Everything You Need To Know About The OnePlus 6T Ahead Of Its Release
Expected to be released on the second half of this year is the OnePlus 6T. Just a few months ago, its predecessor was released and was welcomed with open arms due to its amazing specs and features yet affordable price tag. With that being said, here are the things that you need to know about the upcoming smartphone.
Coming To Paris With Love
A few days ago, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei revealed that they intend to open a physical store in Paris around the time of the OnePlus 6T’s launch. Although the company has sold phones in that area before, never have they opened a physical store.
As for the launch date of the device, well, reports are suggesting that it could be either in October or November. But if it doesn’t come on those months, another possibility is that it could be on January of 2019 — this is based from a cryptic calendar image that was posted by the company recently.
However, we predict that the probability of this is rather low because the company has been releasing two smartphones annually for years now. So why break the tradition? Unless there’s a major issue that could cause a delay.
How Much Will It Cost?
As for its price tag, one report that it will cost between $529 and $599. The currently available model starts at $529.
It is rumored to feature a 6.4-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. On its display, there will also be an in-display fingerprint scanner and 3D Face recognition.
The Processor and Memory
It is expected to be packed with a Snapdragon 845 chip. As for the memory, 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB/256GB are rumored to come. However, earlier reports have suggested 512GB.
Camera and Battery
In terms of cameras, earlier reports claimed that will feature a powerful rear tri-camera setup (16MP + 20MP + 8MP) with dual-LED flash and a 16MP + 16MP selfie camera. Now, recent reports are claiming that it could come with a 12MP main camera and 20MP the second camera.
As for its battery, it is expected to at least be powered by a more powerful one compared to its predecessor. The currently available model sports a 3300 mAh battery.
No Wireless Charging?
Back in July, CEO Pete Lau said in an interview that in regards to wireless charging, they are currently still on the stages of testing because they haven’t yet found a solution that meets satisfactory results in terms of speed and convenience. There’s also the issue of the device thickening and heating while charging.
With this, the probability of the OnePlus 6T coming with wireless charging support seems rather low. But hey, at least their making sure that once they release a smartphone with this kind of feature, it will be dependable and users won’t have any issues using it– the last thing you want is an exploding phone, right?
But hey, who knows, perhaps it could come with this feature. If it will, then it would be a wonderful addition – just don’t jack up the price.
