Xiaomi Mi Box 4 To Launch As "Mi Box S"
For all Xiaomi Mi fans, we’ve got great news for you. The Xiaomi Mi Box lineup which has always been a popular choice for people looking for an affordable Android TV box could launch its Xiaomi Mi Box 4 as the Mi Box S.
The Android TV Box
According to XDA-Developers, the Xiaomi Mi Box 4 was just recently added to the list of Google Play Certified devices. On the list, you could see the under the “Marketing Name” it carries the name “MiBox S” while under the “Model” it is called MIBOX4.
So When Is It Coming?
The Mi Box 4 and 4C was launched back in January of 2018 in China. The former featured a price tag of 349 Yuan ($51), while the latter 249 Yuan ($36).
For the U.S. its release, it has already passed through the FCC back in June. With this alone, we can assume that it is coming to the US. As for when, we don’t know exactly, but we’re expecting it to come by the end of this year by the very least — but take it with a pinch of salt though.
Specs and Features
The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 will feature a microphone for the Google Assistant and a dedicated Netflix button. It supports 4K HDR video, Dolby Audio + DTS-HD audio decoder output, and is packed with an Amlogic S905L quad-core Cortex-A53 64-bit processor with a 3+2 core Mali-45 GPU.
For its memory, the standard version features 2GB of RAM while the cheaper version only offers 1GB of RAM. Both feature 8GB of internal storage.
Aside from the difference with its RAM, they also differ with connectivity. The standard model features Bluetooth 4.1 LE support, while the other uses infrared.
