Xiaomi Mi A3 (Mi 9X) Will Feature In-Display Fingerprint Scanner, Dot Notch And More

One of the highly anticipated smartphones expected to arrive in the Indian market is the Xiaomi Mi A3. And according to latest rumors, this said smartphone will launch with an in-display fingerprint scanner, a “Dot Notch”, and more.

The Display

According to a report, the Xiaomi Mi 9X will launch in the first half of 2019 in the Indian market under the name Xiaomi Mi A3 and possibly with different RAM/ROM options.

It will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED Full HD+ screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, a water-drop notch design to which Xiaomi refer to as “Dot Notch”, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Regarding its in-display fingerprint scanner, the report notes that it was initially rumored that the Xiaomi Mi A3 will sport an optical in-display scanner instead of the ultrasonic sensors that require expensive flexible OLED display.

Other Specs And Features

For its platform, the Xiaomi Mi A3 will feature an 11nm Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chip and an Adreno 612 GPU. Moreover, it would run on MiUi 10 based on Android 9.0.

For its memory, it will feature 6GB of RAM and a built-in memory of 64GB. It’s also expected to come with microSD support but the exact number is still unknown.

For its camera specs, you will be amazed as it will sport a triple rear camera setup: a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, and an 8MP lens. Meanwhile, its selfie camera will feature a 32MP sensor with face unlock support.

For the battery, it will be powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. In addition to that, it will also come with 18W Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging support.

The Pricing

Looking at the Xiaomi Mi A3’s specs and features, one would assume that it will be quite expensive. However, that’s not the case. In fact, the Xiaomi Mi 9X is said to be launched for Yuan 1,699 (Rs. 17,613 or $253) in April.
