Xiaomi Blackshark Gaming Phone To Launch on April 13; Specs Detailed
Xiaomi Blackshark gaming phone is already set to launch on April 13 at 3 PM in China. The latest teaser image posted today from its official website officially confirms the date without the word Xiaomi. This poster serves as an invitation to Zhu Shangzu, which is a partner of Xiaomi’s investment department, indicating the big tech is backing up the newly established smartphone manufacturing firm Black Shark Technologies.
In terms of specification, the Xiaomi Black shark gaming phone gets powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset similar to the recently introduced Mi Mix 2s. However, it has a sturdier design compared to the latter. The metal unibody design aids the device to dissipate the heat. Xiaomi Blackshark gaming phone features a 6-inch full high-definition display with a resolution of 2160 pixels by 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio covered with a 2.5D curved glass on top.
According to Gizmochina, the Xiaomi Black shark gaming phone works running Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating system right out of the box. It has either MIUI or stock Android with USB Type-C port and dual stereo speakers at the bottom edge. Xiaomi Blackshark gaming phone is paired with 8GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory storage that can be expanded up to either 64GB or 128GB.
The Xiaomi Blackshark gaming phone also supports Quick Charge 3.0 rapid charging technology. Since it is a gaming-centric device, it comes with the aviation-class cooling system with more additional tweaks, making it a major contender for the Snapdragon 835-powered Razer Phone, which is currently having a 120Hz display and a 4000 mAh capacitive battery.
To recall, around a month ago, the Xiaomi Blackshark gaming phone first appeared on AnTuTu with a codename “Black Shark.” Then, it again spotted on Geekbench with the model number of SKR-A0. Now, this upcoming gaming phone is likely to be sold only in China with a retail price of $500.
