Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Talks About Crackdown 3, Project xCloud and E3 2019
It’s 2019 and there are many things to look forward to. In the tech and gaming world, according to a report, Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently sat down with Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, Xbox’s director of programming, to talk about the much-anticipated action game “Crackdown 3”, Project xCloud, and E3 2019.
Crackdown 3 is an upcoming action-adventure video game is for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. Its development is headed by British developer Sumo Digital and published by Microsoft Studios. It is expected to launch in February.
This game stars actor Terry Crews who Spencer labeled as “an awesome choice” and “fits the overall motif of the game”. He also said that he loves it because “it kinda feels kinda like old-school mayhem game”. In addition to that, players will be able to play the game with their friends and that they’ll have a good time.
Furthermore, Spencer is confident that for those who like “Crackdown”, they’re probably not going to like this third installment. But for those who love “Crackdown”, the Xbox boss thinks that they will like it.
The Project xCloud is an upcoming global game streaming technology which was unveiled back in October 2018. According to an article, this feature runs on devices paired with an Xbox Wireless Controller via Bluetooth and it’s playable using touch input. Reports noted that this feature will be launched sometime in 2019.
As for what Spencer had to say about the Project xCloud, he said that they’re doing some things that they “had been talking about for a while for real on PC this year”. Moreover, this year where it’s not a strategy, it’s when they’re going to roll up their sleeves and show.
The Xbox boss noted that they want to make sure to get it right as possible as they can. However, he is well aware that it will take years before this type of gaming will be the primary way people are using. But what Microsoft is basically doing is considering the future and believes that it’s important to “have these five to ten-year views on where things can go”.
Since 2009, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has been held during the month of June. For E3 2019, it is scheduled from June 11 to 13.
Fans can look forward to what Microsoft has in store at E3 2019. The Xbox boss said they’re going to do their thing and that they’re going to go and be as big at E3 2019 as they’ve ever been and he’s excited to have such an opportunity.
