Leaks, rumors, and speculations regarding the Xbox 2020 are starting to get a lot of attention from the public eye. With that, let’s review its recent rumors, shall we?

What Will It Be Called?

As of now, it is still unknown on what name the Xbox 2020 will carry – for all we know, it could be Xbox Two, Xbox One XI or whatever. However, there was a report back on June 10, 2018, stating that Microsoft has been working on a new gaming console codenamed as “Scarlett”.

There Will Be More Than One?

Reports have indicated that the Xbox “Scarlett” is set to be released in 2020. But what makes it interesting is that Project Scarlett is described as a family of devices. What this means is that the next gaming console could possibly be available with different specs and functionality.

Furthermore, in a press conference at E3, Xbox head Phil Spencer said,

The same team that delivered unprecedented performance with Xbox One X is deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles, where we will once again deliver on our commitment to set the benchmark for console gaming,

…to which reports have been pointing out the “consoles” part – indicating its plural form. With this, it is possible that for the upcoming gaming console, it will have several variations just like the Xbox One (2013), Xbox One S (2016) and Xbox One X (2017).

The Price

Currently, the Xbox One X costs £420-£450 (or $450-$480) depending on where you’re shopping. T3’s David Nield suggests the upcoming gaming console’s price could come in at the same level or a little bit higher.

Game Features

Tom’s Guide noted a source where Spencer told the Guardian that their focus is to bring console-quality games that you see on TV or PC to any device.  With this, the article suggests that it will make it possible for the system to stream games to your phone, PC or even another system if that’s where you want to play.

Speaking of games, the upcoming gaming console is also reported to feature full backward compatibility. This will allow its user to play old game titles from previous Xbox consoles.

Mixed Reality

Given that Sony has PlayStation VR and Microsoft has its mixed reality headsets, the upcoming Xbox Two could feature the mixed reality. Mixed reality is somewhere between augmented reality and virtual reality.

So what do you about the information listed on this article regarding the Xbox 2020 or Xbox Two? We would like to hear from you in the comment section below.
