Woah! 'Tom & Jerry' Film Set To Roll Into Theaters In Summer 2021

Yes, you heard that right! Warner Brothers Pictures has just announced the official release date of their next animation film Tom & Jerry. The live-action, CG hybrid movie will make its grand entry into theatres on April 16, 2021. Apart from announcing the release date for Tom & Jerry, the production house also revealed the release date for its yet another family film Sesame Street, which will buzz into theatres on January 15, 2021.
Director Tim Story, who has previously called the shots for Fantastic Four (2005), Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer (2007) and the upcoming Shaft (2019), will helm the Tom & Jerry film. The popular film, which revolves around some iconic fights between a cat and a mouse, will be the first live-action hybrid to be shot in 2019, with Space Jam being the second. Unlike the 1992 film Tom and Jerry: The Movie, the animals will keep mum and rely on physical comedy to elicit laughs from the audience.
Speculations about a new Tom & Jerry film have been doing the rounds in the Hollywood circuit for some months now. Earlier this month, a report stated that talented actors Zoey Deutch and Olivia Cooke are in talks for the lead roles in the film, with Yara Shahidi, Kelly Marie Tran, Becky G, and Isabella Moner also on the shortlist. However, as far as the casting of the film is concerned, the makers are yet to make any official announcement.
