Disney’s much-awaited film Aladdin is almost two-and-a-half-month away from its theatrical release and fans certainly cannot keep calm! So, in order to give audiences a sneak peek into the magical world of the movie, the makers just dropped a new trailer of the hotly anticipated flick which gives fans a first look at Will Smith’s Genie.

Aladdin is the new take on Disney’s 1992 animated classic which is still a craze among audiences of all age groups. The makers rolled out its new trailer on Sunday night during the Grammy Awards. Besides unveiling Will Smith as adorable Genie, the trailer also drops looks of Jasmine and more scenes featuring Aladdin and Agrabah. As soon as the trailer came out, Smith also took to his Instagram and posted it, writing, “I told y’all I was gon’ be Blue!!”

Talking about the other star cast of the big-ticket movie, Aladdin stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin in the live-action remake. Naomi Scott plays Jasmine, while Marwan Kenzari will be seen as Jafar. Billy Magnussen and Nasim Pedrad are also part of the ensemble cast of the live-action flick.

Scott, who plays Jasmine in the movie, said in 2017 that her take on Jasmine emphasizes the princess’ ability to lead. “You really get in this adaptation of the movie that her heart is for her people, and her main objective is what’s best for her kingdom,” she said. “And you really get a sense that she has those leadership qualities within her”.

The original Aladdin, which was directed by ace filmmaker John Musker and Ron Clements, premiered in the year 1992 and went on to rack up more than $504 million globally. Guy Ritchie has taken the directorial rein in his hand this time around. Aladdin is scheduled to enter theatres in key markets across the world on May 24, 2019.
