Will GTA 6 Feature Heist Missions At Its Launch?
The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the beloved series from Rockstar Games in the gaming community. Expected to be released sometime in the future is GTA 6 (or GTA VI) and it’s been a while since we’ve heard some rumors about it.
This time around, the folks over at VGR published an article on whether GTA 6 will feature heists or not at its launch. So will it or will it not?
But First… What’s “Heists”?
At its core, heist missions are basically a series of setup missions that culminate in a high-profit crime. However, although the overall structure of heist missions found in the GTA 5 and GTA Online are similar, there are a few differences.
According to VGR, heist missions were first announced back in August 2013, a couple of months prior to the launch of GTA 5 and GTA Online. However, there were a series of delays and it didn’t come to the game until 18 months later.
On March 2015, Heist missions were added to the GTA Online as part of the “Heists Update”. The update came with five separate heist missions: One was a 2-player introductory Fleeca Job, while the remaining four are all 4-player missions with huge payouts, requiring players to perform setup missions, assign roles, and complete different tasks simultaneously. And due to its popularity, Rockstar released more heist content dubbed as “The Doomsday Heist” in December 2017.
So Will GTA 6 Feature Heist Missions?
Since its release, heist missions have proven to be extremely popular. In fact, it’s one of the most talked about features of the GTA 5. Considering this, the probability of GTA 6 having this feature is very high.
But what makes the heist missions very appealing? Well, VGR notes that they serve as a useful vehicle for post-launch content delivery. The thing is, in completing GTA 5’s heist missions, it unlocks access to a variety of new weapons and vehicles which players can try before they’re able to buy and use them in GTA Online.
Okay, But Will It Arrive At The Same Date GTA 6 Is Launched?
For this question, the straight answer is no. This is because heist mission takes a long time to develop. This is based on the previous heists updates which took over a year to release.
