Why Apple Should Definitely Launch iPhone SE 2 This Year

There is a general trend worldwide with regard to the falling sales of top-end smartphones. The tech giant Apple is currently experiencing this challenging situation with its iPhones. In the past week, the U.S. site of the company put up different models of the old iPhone SE on sale.

The classic iPhone SE was given discounts of $100 to $200. The units got sold out. The display of the phones suddenly disappeared on the site. Many speculated that this surprise weekend sale could prove to the company its possible launch on a successor, the highly-anticipated iPhone SE2.

The company may also put into consideration the size screen of their upcoming iPhone. They previously had attempted to let go of the small 4-inch model and launch a larger screen at lower price points. Unfortunately, it was not successful. Come to think of it, China and India sold the largest number of iPhone units. The sales of the iPhone XR particularly in these markets were not remarkable. This clearly indicates that the larger screen size does not result in better sales.

An iPhone at the $300 to $350 range was a captive market. The potential consumers have no other options but to purchase what is available or not purchase at all. This is because of the very limited number of competitive suppliers with that price range. Only the iPhone SE was occupying it. So, the company has to do something about this.

The company is also facing the reverse of what the Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Huawei are facing. Some speculated that if the company will sell the forthcoming iPhone SE 2 at the starting price of $400, then its market for the $1000 and above models may likely have a total loss or at least be put down by the lower-priced model. However, this is highly unlikely to happen. The company must go back to its strategy and launch the device as soon as they can.

What do you think? Will the company go back to one of its popular models like the iPhone SE2 to regain its ground? Share your thoughts by writing in the comment section below.
