Watch Five Best Unforgettable Moments of Coachella 2018 – Memories from Weekend 1
Coachella returned to Indio this year, thereby filling the small town in Southern California with music once again. Even though Beyonce dominated weekend 1 of Coachella 2018, rising stars Brockhampton, Yodel Kid, and Cardi B were not far behind either and made their presence felt.
Weekend 1 of Coachella 2018 like all the previous ones had some splendid moments captured on camera. While there were plenty of moments to cherish, here is a list of the five most unforgettable moments of weekend 1 of Coachella 2018 along with the videos.
Beyonce Sets the Stage on Fire
Queen Bey first made an appearance in a costume inspired by the Egyptian queen Nefertiti. Before she began singing, she quickly slipped into denim cutoffs and a yellow sweatshirt with her initials displayed on the front. 70 minutes on the stage, Beyonce had already delivered the best show at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in recent times.
The incredible set along with Queen Bey’s magnificent performance brought shrieks of excitement from fans. As Bey sang “Crazy In Love” followed by “Formation” and later “Diva,” people could barely contain their joy of seeing their favorite pop star on stage. Beyonce, along with her team of 75 artists at any given time which included dancers, a string section, a marching band, and a drum line was nothing less than ‘electrifying’.
The moment was made even more special with Bey’s husband Jay Z who gave her company for a duet “Déjà vu”. If this was not enough, the enormous crowd witnessed the reunion of Destiny’s child followed by a dance-off with sister Solange for “Get Me Bodied.”
Destiny’s Child Reunion
One of the sweetest memories from the first weekend of Coachella was the reunion of Destiny’s child. The last reunion was in the year 2013 at Queen Bey’s Super Bowl Halftime Show!
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly when Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland joined Beyonce for a reunion of Destiny’s Child, and performed “Lose My Breath,” “Soldier” and “Say My Name,” in “Survivor”-inspired camouflage outfits.
Pregnant Cardi B was Unstoppable
Cardi B grooved for the first time on Coachella’s main stage, and in fact, her pregnant belly too could not stop her from grooving! The year has been especially great for Cardi B so far has made an excellent record-breaking debut with her album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ last week.
Dressed in white clubwear and pigtails, Cardi resembled the late TLC member Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez. The stage was lit with more glamour with guest appearances of G-Eazy, 21 Savage, Chance the Rapper, YG and Kehlani.
“And that’s how I got pregnant, y’all!” Cardi B laughed as she leaned over and twerked gracefully with her baby bump with fans screaming out to her in excitement.
The Weeknd Cried for Selena Gomez
It was only a few weeks ago that The Weeknd released a deeply emotional EP. Many thought that the song “Call Out My Name” was meant for his ex Selena Gomez. When The Weeknd sang this track which had lines “We found each other… I helped you out of a broken place….You gave me comfort … But falling for you was my mistake,” on stage at the Coachella 2018, it seemed like he was moved and was in tears.
Mason Ramsey Makes his Debut at Coachella
The evening of the first weekend of Coachella 2018 was special for eleven-year-old Mason Ramsey, the YouTube sensation who sang a Hank Williams song in an Illinois Walmart. Ramsey appeared on the stage at Coachella on Friday.
18-year-old DJ Whethan found an uncanny resemblance between himself and the kid a few days before the event and sent an invite to share the stage with him. Whetan said that Ramsey was to perform in his school talent show that night but instead chose to perform on Coachella.

The first weekend of Coachella 2018 was undoubtedly a huge hit with memories extending beyond the celebrities mentioned above. Fans are now eagerly waiting for Weekend 2.
