After Wonder Woman (2017), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) Catwoman (2004), and so on, yet another popular DC comics’ character is set to spring out of books for a silver screen debut. Yes, you heard that right! Rumours are floating around in Hollywood circuit that Warner Bros. and DC Films have teamed up to start work on a film based on classic DC Comics hero Plastic Man. The project on the quirky character, who debuted in 1941, is in the early stage of development at Warner Bros.

Though there has been no official word either from Warner Bros. or DC Films, reports suggest that the movie is indeed in the works and an official announcement could be made as soon as things are officially locked. According to reports, Amanda Idoko, whose next film Breaking News in Yuba County, starring Allison Janney and Laura Dern, is gearing up for release, has come on board to write the story for Plastic Man. As far as the director of the film is concerned, the makers are yet to finalize who will call the shots. Bob Shaye, the co-founder of New Line Cinema, will be associated with the project as executive producer.

For those who are not familiar with DC comics’ character Plastic Man, let us brief you about the same. Created by Jack Cole for Quality Comics, Plastic Man has the ability to transform himself into any shape. Orphaned at an early age, he was involved in various crimes before, during a heist, he was shot and exposed to an unknown chemical liquid which gave his body the properties of rubber, allowing him to stretch, bounce, and mold himself into any shape. With the help of a monk, he has a change of heart and leaves his criminal life behind. Soon he turns a lawful man and starts capturing criminals as Plastic Man.
