unCover iOS 12 Jailbreak: Here's What's Left To Achieve Full A12-A12X Support
Great news for jailbreak fans. Unc0ver’s lead developer Pwn20wnd made an announcement regarding the status of the full A12-A12X iOS support.
Early this week, Pwn20wnd took to Twitter about the what’s left to achieve a full A12 to A12X support. The developer mentioned two things:
- Firstly, Cydia Substrate needs to be updated for tweak injection on arm64e devices.
- Secondly, unrestrict library needs to be updated for sandbox patches on arm64e devices.
With the announcement, it was well-received by the jailbreak community. In fact, the tweet accumulated 1,819 likes and 212 retweets at the moment.
Pwn20wnd also revealed other things as well. One is that he is the one working on the unrestrict library, while Jay Freeman (@saurik) is the one working on the substrate.
We tried to look at Saurik’s Twitter account to see if there are more details we could find. Unfortunately, there was none. The last tweet made by the developer was back in December 2018. Perhaps he uses another platform? If any of you our dear readers know, please do tell us in the comment section below. Thanks.
Going back to Pwn20wnd announcement, he also said that he doesn’t currently have an A12(X) device running iOS 12.0-12.0.1. The developer needs this in order to fully finalize the work and test it accurately. However, he did say that he will “get that done” so it’s safe to assume that everything will go well.
Other Recent Tweets Made Pwn20wnd
On the same day that Pwn20wnd announced the status regarding what’s left for a full A12 to A12X support, he thanked Corellium (@CorrelliumHQ) for giving him access to their platform.
With the access granted to him, he is now able to test unc0ver on any device running any firmware with extended debugging capabilities. This certainly will be a big help.
