Is It Time To Say Goodbye To The iPhone SE 2?
A lot of people were surprised when Apple did not reveal the iPhone SE2 during the Apple Keynote event last September 12. The event, which introduced the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xr and Apple Watch Series 4, did not make any mention of the sequel to the iPhone SE.
No more iPhone SE 2?
For the more alarmist fans of the SE, it would be reasonable for them to think that the delay only means that the budget smartphone is no longer coming. After all, Apple has been uncharacteristically quiet about the future of the product line. In the past, this was also what the company did with its other phased-out products.
This is among the reasons why a lot of people assume that an iPhone SE sequel is not going to arrive on retail in the future. This unfortunate development is a shame as the iPhone SE2 could have been one of the best smartphone releases of the company, according to Tech Crunch. After all, it could have retained the iconic design of the iPhone 4, which is instantly recognizable.
The fact that Apple released the iPhone Xr also does not help matters. The cheapest of the 2018 iPhones, which include iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, takes design cues from the iPhone X. This could mean that the iPhone Xr could start a new budget-friendly smartphone line for Apple. At $749, it offers pretty much the same level of performance as the two other 2018 iPhones. It also has Face ID, according to 9 to 5 Mac.
Have we seen the last of the SE 2? Only Apple can really put an end to all the rumors.
