Surface Book 3: New Microsoft 2-in-1 Laptop Might Get 4K Display

Since its predecessor has been a massive success for Microsoft, the Surface Book 3 may be on its way. In fact, this highly-anticipated laptop product may be positioned as a credible threat to Apple’s MacBook series.

4K display for the Surface Book 3

It looks like the Surface Book 3 will be getting the 4K display, according to Tech Radar. The current Surface Book already comes with strong display features. The 15-inch Surface Book 2 model possesses a 3,240 x 2,160 (260 ppi) with a 3:2 aspect ratio. This means that the screen will display sharper and more colorful visuals.

It is said some accessories will already come with the Book 2. Among these essential accessories include the Surface Pen and the Surface Dial.

Release date and pricing

No one knows when the Book 3 will be released exactly. It is nearly impossible for it to arrive within this year. The conservative estimate for its release date is either the last quarter of 2019 or 2020.

As to the pricing, no official information has leaked yet. But, for the moment, it seems that Microsoft is positioning the Surface Book 3 around the same price range of its predecessor. That means it will start at $1,199.

In the related Surface news, the Surface Pro 5 may be coming either this year or 2019. This comes as the tablet device game has become even more competitive, with devices from Apple, Google, and Samsung.

To stand out, Microsoft is doing major upgrades on the Surface Pro 5. This may include a faster processor, longer battery life, and stronger RAM. USB-C connectivity and a Surface Pen may also be part of the features. The release date and pricing of the next Surface Pro is not yet known.
