7:07 PM

Last month, the world witnessed the MWC 2019. On the event tech companies flexed their tech prowess, showcasing their devices. One of the companies present at the event was Sony who announced the Xperia 1 flagship phone alongside the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus mid-range devices.

This time around, there’s a new rumor that Sony is working on a new device, specifically a new upper mid-range device. The device is dubbed as “Xperia 4“.

Sony’s New Rumored Smartphone

According to a report, it was spotted by Sumahoinfo.

In terms of design, the Xperia 4 is reportedly going to measure in at 149.5 x 65 x 9.4mm and may come in colors such as Silver, Black, Purple, and Red. It won’t feature a 3.5mm jack (just like the Xperia 1).

The Xperia 4 will be an IP certified water-resistant and dustproof device. Regarding its screen, it will feature a 5.7-inch full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21:9.

Under its hood, the Xperia 4 will be packed with a Snapdragon 710 chip. Comparing it to the smartphones introduced by Sony last month, the Xperia 1 came with an SD 855 chip, the Xperia 10 Plus was SD 636 and the Xperia 10 was SD 630.

For its camera specs, it will feature a dual rear camera setup but the exact configurations are still unknown. The front camera is also unknown.

As for its memory, it will have an inbuilt storage space of 64GB and RAM storage will be 4GB. There was no mention if it will come with microSD support.

Lastly, we have the battery. The Xperia 4 will be housing a 2800 mAh battery.

When Is It Coming?

Unfortunately, there was no information about Xperia 4’s release date. The only “clue” (if it can even be considered a clue in the first place) we have right now is the expected release date of the Xperia 1 which is in May 2019.
