Shah Rukh Khan To Join Forces With Acting Great Amitabh Bachchan On Latter’s Next 'Badla'
After enthralling cine-lovers with their sterling performances in superhit movies like Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006), to name just a few, superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have joined hands with each other once again. According to reports, Khan has come onboard to bankroll renowned filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming directorial venture, Badla, which is being toplined by Senior Bachchan and immensely talented Taapsee Pannu.
Confirming the news, director Sujoy Ghosh told a leading tabloid, “When you get an actor like Amitabh Bachchan, half your battle is won as he’s every director’s delight and I’m extremely excited to direct him. Also, I have been trying to work with Taapsee for a while. This is the perfect story to collaborate with her on. My excitement is doubled now that the film is being produced by SRK. I couldn’t have asked for a better team and now it is time for work.”
Shah Rukh, who was last seen with Big B in Nitesh Tiwari’s supernatural political comedy-drama Bhoothnath Returns (2014), will co-produce Badla in association with well-known film producer Sunir Kheterpal. Khan and Kheterpal will bankroll the movie under their respective moviemaking banners, Red Chillies Entertainment and Azure Entertainment.
For the uninitiated, Badla, which is currently being filmed in Scotland, is the official remake of a Spanish crime thriller film called Contratiempo (2016), which was released as The Invisible Guest in Spanish. Earlier, there were reports that actor-producer John Abraham was also keen to remake the film under his production house, JA Entertainment. However, later it turned out that the actor shelved the project permanently.
The Sujoy Ghosh directorial is also awaited as it marks the second collaboration between National award-winning actor Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu after their critically and commercially successful film Pink, which hit the marquee in 2016.
