Samsung Gear S4 Release Slated On August 9; Specs Include Tizen OS, LTE Connectivity, and More
The Samsung Gear S4 is now slated to make its first appearance on August 9 and will ship two weeks after its launch. The Smartwatch from the South Korean tech giant is expected to run on Tizen OS and will have LTE connectivity.

ZDNet Korea stated in its article that the Samsung Gear S4 will be unveiled along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 at the Samsung’s Unpacked 2018 event on August 9, 2018, New York City. After the said release, the South Korean tech company will start to take pre-orders on both of these products on August 14, 2018. The devices will then hit the market shelves on August 24, 2018.
Samsung Gear S4 Rumored Specs and Features
As for the specs, there were talks suggesting that upcoming Smartwatch will run on Samsung’s Tizen Operating System, most possibly Tizen 5.0 which was launched in May. On the other hand, there were rumors suggesting that the Tizen OS will be ditched in favor of the Google Wear OS. This piece of information came from Evan Blass, a well-known tipster with a good track record. With that, it will be really interesting to see which of these speculations are accurate. The upcoming device will purportedly be equipped with LTE connectivity and its battery might be bumped up from 380mAh to 470mAh.
It is also worth mentioning that the Samsung Gear S4 will be concentrated on health and fitness. With that, there’s a possibility that it might feature a built-in blood pressure sensor. Apart from that, it is also expected to flaunt “killer apps” that are associated with fitness. In addition, some design of the design enhancements is expected to include lighter form-factor and a thinner face. The timepiece is also expected to arrive two variants, one will be Classic and the other one will be rugged and sporty looking Frontier version.
