Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 vs iPad 2018: Which Tablet Device Is Better?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is officially launched. Since the company’s top competition in almost every product is Apple, one cannot help but compare the recently announced tablet device with the already released iPad 2018. Both the new Galaxy Tab and the iPad have been geared as improvements over its predecessors, with power that could rival some laptop brands.
Comparing Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 and iPad 2018
A lot of media outlets have called the Galaxy Tab S4 as potentially the best Android tablet. Meanwhile, the sixth-generation iPad is marketed for its optimal productivity tools and apps, as per CNet. We compare the iPad 2018 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 on six features and specs below:
While the Galaxy Tab S4 runs the Android 8.1, it will be one of the most powerful Android tablets in the market when it is released on August 10. Meanwhile, the base model for the iPad 2018 has 2GB of RAM with a 2.2 GHz A10 processor. Needless to say, the latest iPad wins in this round as it has more power to it.
Samsung is pulling out all the stops on the display screen, which uses a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED. As usual with most Apple devices, the 2018 version of the iPad has an excellent display. But we have to give this round to the Galaxy Tab S4.
The Galaxy Tab’s not exactly its best feature, with 13MP rear and 8MP front camera capabilities. Apple’s 1080p video camera resolution is superior in this regard.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is larger than the iPad 2018. The former is 249.3 mm x 164.3 mm x 7.1 mm while the Apple tablet is 240 mm x 169.5 mm x 7.5 mm.
The Tab S4 has lesser bezels and four AKG-tuned speakers. On the other hand, the iPad possesses the classic Apple design that has become so iconic.
LTE and Wi-Fi versions of the Android tab will be available. Both versions have been optimized for connectivity. The latest iPad also received upgrades on its LTE speeds which can reach up to 300 Mbps.
Galaxy Tab S4 downsides
If there is one thing that will prevent people from buying the Galaxy Tab S4, it is the hefty price of $649.99. Other downsides include a cramped keyboard and an older Snapdragon 835 processor.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 release
Apart from the Galaxy Tab S4, the Korean tech giant is also unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5. This tab is positioned as a cheaper version of a Tab S4 with a 3GB RAM and a slower Snapdragon 450 processor, according to Tech Radar. It has a 1920 x 1200 display and will run on Android 8.1.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 received positive responses from critics because of its amazing connectivity and solid build. While some take issue with its less-than-stellar performance and weak camera, it is a cheaper alternative for the Galaxy Tab S4.
