Could Red Dead Redemption 2’s Success Affect GTA 6 Release Date?
It’s been years since Rockstar Games release the Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) and Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA Online) – 5 years to be exact. This year, Rockstar will be releasing its Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) on October 26 and the Read Dead Online public beta in November.
However, amidst the fans excitement for RDR2, analysts believe that its success could affect the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6).
How Will It Affect GTA 6’s Release Date?
Although Rockstar claimed that the GTA 6 requires further planning, analysts believe that this has something to do with GTA Online. Up to this day, GTA Online proves to be a massive success, with its base game still selling well.
With this, there seems to be no reason for the company to pull out the plug and release a new GTA game anytime soon. And with RDR2’s RDR Online, assuming that it will be successful, it would be highly unlikely that the company will choose to rival it with another product.
But What If RDR2’s Success Doesn’t Have Anything To Do With GTA 6’s Release?
Well, if this is the case, another speculation made by the fans is that Rockstar plans to launch the GTA 6 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two platform. These two gaming consoles have been long rumored to arrive until at least 2020 – although there have been reports suggesting that the PS5 could be launched in late 2019.
As a matter of fact, last December of 2017, games industry analyst Michael Patcher spoke with Gaming Bolt in an exclusive interview about the possible release date of GTA 6. He predicts that it could be released over/under 2022.
