PS5 and Xbox Two "Scarlett" Latest Rumors: Cross-Play Could Become A Major Focus
It’s no secret that Sony and Microsoft are working on their own respective next-generation consoles for the next console war. Although we’ve heard or seen some leaks, patents, rumors, and official talks here and there, both consoles still more or less remain mysterious.
So what new detail we have about the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Two “Scarlett” this time around? Well, according to reports, it looks like cross-play could be a major focus.
Cross-Play As A Major Feature Will Not Be Excluded
One of the hottest topics this generation is cross-play between competing video game consoles. In fact, it has become more demanded and more popular. Considering this, it comes to no surprise that tech enthusiasts and the gaming community alike are wondering if cross-play will continue with the next generation of gaming consoles.
Gaming Bolt recently sent out some questions to Avalanche Studios regarding their upcoming open world shooter game, Generation Zero. And after posing questions to Product Owner Paul Keslin, their conversation eventually turned to the next-generation consoles.
The news outlet asked about the chances of cross-play becoming a major feature in the PS5 and Xbox Two. This is what the Product Owner of Generation Zero had to say:
“With the recent trends we’ve seen, we would not exclude it,” Keslin said. “New technology is always exciting to work with, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds in store, both for players and developers.”
