Speculations were rife of late that India’s international star Priyanka Chopra, who has not been seen in any Bollywood movie since 2016, might come onboard to play the female lead in the fourth installment of Rakesh Roshan’s highly successful superhero film franchise Krrish. Buzz also had it that Chopra was willing to join forces with Senior Roshan once again provided her role in the flick be on a par with her male co-star Hrithik Roshan. The latest update on the Krrish 4 is that Priyanka has, reportedly, given her consent to it.

“Priyanka has definitely given them the green signal for the next installment of the Krrish franchise. She was a part of the first two Krrish films, and when Rakeshji sounded her out about Krrish 4, she happily agreed to do it. Since she’s such a big global star now, Rakeshji wasn’t sure if she would want to be part of a desi franchise in which she doesn’t play the main character. But Priyanka’s association with the Roshans goes back a long way,” a source reveals to a popular entertainment portal.

According to the source, Krrish 4 will mount the shooting floor next year and PC will join the team somewhere in mid-2019. Currently, the project is at the scripting stage.

Talking about Priyanka Chopra’s other projects, the award-winning actress has just begun shooting for her comeback Hindi movie The Sky Is Pink, co-starring Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. Inspired by real-life events, the movie is being helmed by Shonali Bose of Margarita with a Straw (2014) fame. Apart from starring in it, PC is also co-producing the project in association with Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala. The actress has also signed a high-profile Hollywood film called Cowboy Ninja Viking, but several national and international media outlets report that the project has been put on the backburner for a while.
