Oscars 2018 Highlights: Read The Who, What And When Of The 90th Academy Awards

The 90th Oscars of 2018 ended with much fanfare on Sunday 4th March amid huge audience. Like each year, the event saw many actors, directors, cinematographers, writers, and parts of Hollywood industry taking part in the biggest annual event.

The Best Picture winner – The Shape of Water won four awards including Best Directing, Original Score, and Production Design. While Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk registered the win in Best Editing, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing. The competition between these two movies was said to be neck to neck, as per industry experts. Many new performances and fresh talent won their first Oscar too, at the event.

Oscar 2018 Moments:

Further, there was more fire in the show that kept audiences glued. When Frances McDormand won Best Actress, for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, other nominated actresses had a group hug. Hollywood’s celebrated actress Sandra Bullock greeted and kissed Mary J. Blige and stopped by to chat with her. Bullock and Nicole Kidman were sitting beside each other. There was a loud cheer for Jordon Peele for winning Best Screenplay for ‘Get Out.’ When director Guillermo Del Toro won Best Director for Shape of Water, entire theater burst out in applause for his marvelous creation!

Electrifying speeches were given by Frances McDormand, Allison Janney and by the host Jimmy Kimmel. While Jennifer Lawrence and a good friend & colleague Emma Stone were spotted having wine at the bar of the theater. The Handmaid’s Tale Actress Elisabeth was seen having wine with a friend at the smoking alley. Oscar Nominee Margot Robbie and husband Tom Ackerley were seen meet actress and co-star Allison Janney.

Many other important attendees were spotted at the bar during the event – Olympic alpine skier Lindsay Vonn, fellow Olympians Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, Timothée Chalamet, Ashley Judd, Taraji P. Henson with friends, Molly Sims, Laurie Metcalf and her daughter Zoe Perry.
