OnePlus 6 Finally Gets Android 9.0 Pie Ahead Of The OnePlus 6T Launch
Early this year, the OnePlus 6 was launched and it was welcomed with positive reviews from tech enthusiasts. This time around, we got great news for its users because the said smartphone is finally getting updated to Android 9.0 Pie.
According to a report, the OnePlus 6 is finally being updated from Android 8.1 Oreo to Android 9.0 Pie over-the-air and is limited to a number of users initially before a broader rollout in the coming days. This rollout comes just 45 days after Google’s release of the firmware.
Although it may sound slow, this is in fact way faster compared to the OnePlus 5T. Why? Well, with the 5T, it took around 5 months before it was updated from Android 7.1 Nougat to Android 8.0 Oreo.
So What New Features Will It Has?
With the Android 9.0 Pie onboard, the OnePlus 6 will have new gesture navigation, adaptive battery, new text notification, and notifications for third party calls. Furthermore, there’s also a new accent color optimization and the Do Not Disturb mode with adjustable settings.
So When Can We Expect The OnePlus 6T?
It’s no secret that the OnePlus 6T is expected to come in the second half of this year. As for the specific dates, well, based on previous reports, it’s either October or November.
What Will Be Its Specs/Features?
According to reports, it is expected to feature a 6.4-inch display with full HD+ resolution, a waterdrop notch design, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and it won’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for the other features, it will be packed with a SD 845 chip, 6/8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of memory storage.
Regarding its camera, initial reports were saying that it will be featuring a triple rear camera setup similar to the Oppo R17 Pro. But last week, a photo was featured at WinFuture suggesting that OnePlus 6T will have a vertical dual rear camera setup instead.
