OnePlus 7 vs OnePlus 6T Comparison Review: Should You Wait?
OnePlus, a Chinese a smartphone manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China, will be releasing the OnePlus 7 presumably in the first half of 2019. Although many tech enthusiasts are excited for the OnePlus 7, given that OnePlus phones have the reputation of featuring high-end specs with affordable price tags, how powerful is it compared to the currently available OnePlus 6T which was released just back in November 2018?
For the OnePlus 6T owners, should they ditch their device for the new and upcoming OnePlus 7? Well, let’s compare the two phones. Please do note that we will only be mentioning the specs and features of the OnePlus 7 that are known or rumored.
The Notch Design
The OnePlus 6T came with a teardrop notch design. However, for the OnePlus 7, it won’t feature a notch design. Instead, based on the supposed leaked images of the OnePlus 7, it will sport a motorized pop-up selfie camera which is similar to the Vivo Nex. Oppo F11 Pro and Vivo V15 Pro.
The OnePlus 6T featured a 6.41-inch AMOLED display and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 7 will feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen and an improved in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The OnePlus 6T came with a Snapdragon 845 chip. For the OnePlus 7, it will feature a Snapdragon 855.
The OnePlus 6T camera with a 16MP front camera and a 16MP+20MP rear camera. For the OnePlus 7, it is reportedly going to feature 48MP rear camera (Yes, 48MP!) and it will also come with Sony’s IMX586 sensor that also powers phones such as HonorView 20 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The OnPlus 6T features 6/8GB of RAM. However, the OnePlus 6T MacLaren features 10GB and cost a lot more. For the OnePlus 7, it is reportedly going to feature 8GB of RAM.
While the OnePlus 6T is powered by a 3700 mAh battery and comes with fast battery charging 5V/4A 20W, the OnePlus 7 will take it to another level. Apparently, it will house a 4,000mAh battery with 44W fast charger.
Just like the OnePlus 6T, the OnePlus will not have wireless charging as well. As noted by a report, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau earlier this month said that the modern wireless chargers were “far inferior” to its wired fast charging, Warp Charging.
