OnePlus 6T: 3,700mAh Battery, In-Display Fingerprint Scanner, Waterdrop Notch, and More
Shenzhen-based tech company OnePlus is getting ready to introduce one of its highly anticipated smartphones for this year, the OnePlus 6T. Avid fans are expecting that its latest flagship smartphone at an event on October 17 in India.
According to MoneyControl, most of the specifications and features have been revealed even if there is still no official information of the upcoming device from the company. Chief Executive Officer Pete Lau already confirmed some of it, while others came through the supply chain. A report from the third-party retailer Mobile Fun is the latest one.
In terms of specifications, OnePlus 6T clearly showcases the teardrop sized notch similar to the current OPPO R17. There is a complete lack of any fingerprint reader on the chassis or back plate. The in-display fingerprint sensor is the very first feature for any OnePlus device.
Within a day, we undeniably unlock our phones multiple times. To address this, the company confirmed that the Screen Lock feature will reduce the number of ways to complete this action efficiently. This feature is an addition to other display unlocking options like the Face Unlock feature.
Unfortunately, the 3.5mm headphone jack is no longer present. Lau admitted that their move was a tough one, but the company needs to pave the way for the latest fingerprint sensor and a larger 3,700mAh battery with a “Designed by OnePlus” note on it. This battery would be the company’s major upgrade over its predecessor OnePlus 6 that comes with a 3,300mAh battery.
Not only that, the dual-lens camera will be at the rear of the handset. The upcoming device will also come running with a Snapdragon 845 processor. The wireless charging is still speculated to prevail over the thermal issues. As a result, the device could deliver power as fast as its DashCharge system.
