OnePlus 6 Will Release With Advanced Facial Recognition Feature Similar To Galaxy S9
OnePlus 6 is confirmed to get launch in the Q2 of this year. However, the latest report claims that flagship will be shipped with advanced facial recognition feature. Interestingly, Samsung is also heavily rumored to boast a similar feature on its upcoming Galaxy S9, which is expected to launch next month at MWC 2018.
Express has reported that one source speaking to Android Marvel reveals OnePlus 6 will “integrate advanced face recognition technology,” that will be good enough to “take on the FaceID feature of the iPhone X”. The publication describes the source behind this OnePlus 6 rumor as “reliable”.
Similarly, an unnamed leakster claims that OnePlus 6 will sport an infrared 3D camera module for its facial recognition technology. This won’t be boasted in an iPhone X-style notch; however, it will be located in the top bezel of the upcoming OnePlus flagship.
The Chinese smartphone maker has already seen experimenting with facial recognition before, debuting a software-based version of the system with the OnePlus 5T last year. However, this all are rumors, so it’s advisable to take this with a pinch of salt.
Previously, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the next-generation OnePlus handset will launch by the end of Q2 2018, which runs from April 1st to June 30th. This means that we can see the upcoming OnePlus 6 before June 30th.
About the specs and features, nothing has been known yet apart from the fact, which Lau has confirmed, that OnePlus 6 will come featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Nevertheless, several rumors claim that it will come with the minimum bezels, similar to the iPhone X. The device is also expected to have an in-display fingerprint sensor and will come with the improved camera and graphics as compared to OnePlus 5T.
