Microsoft Confirms, New Surface Products Including Surface Phone To Arrive Later This Year
The fans of the Redmond-based tech giant will be delighted as new Surface products including much-awaited Surface Phone will possibly arrive soon. This has is based on the comments made by Microsoft executives throughout the firm’s fiscal third quarter results conference call, which was held on Thursday.
Microsoft Fiscal Third Quarter Results Conference Details
Microsoft has revealed that the Surface business grew 32 percent year over year. Additionally, the company also expects that number to rise in its fiscal fourth quarter and into fiscal 2019 which will start on July 1 due to an upgraded Surface products portfolio.
Amy Hood, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft stated that “We expect Surface revenue growth in the high teens as we continue to transition to the latest products in our portfolio.” She further added that the tech giant also perceived better than the projected performance from its most recent Surface Book.
Aside from that, the Redmond-based tech giant also experienced remarkable advancement across the board in its fiscal third quarter. In fact, its Azure-branded cloud platform leads the pack having a 93 percent growth. Trailing behind the Azure is the Dynamics 365 with a 65-percent growth, the Office 365 commercial featuring a 42 percent growth, and last but not the least, the LinkedIn with a 37 percent growth. It is also worth noting that the Microsoft’s entire gaming division developed 18 percent while its Xbox services and software grew 24 percent.
Nadella stated in a press release that “Our results this quarter reflect the trust people and organizations are placing in the Microsoft Cloud.” He further added that “We are innovating across key growth categories of infrastructure, AI, productivity, and business applications to deliver differentiated value to customers.”
Moreover, Microsoft also reveals that the LinkedIn sessions grew 30 percent during its third fiscal quarter, which leads to a 37 percent growth in revenue when compared to the same quarter in the fiscal year 2017. Meanwhile, the subscriptions to the Office 365 in the mainstream market have reached 30.6 million, resulting in a 12 percent increase in income. Also, the Office 365 in the commercial sector soared 42 percent, which has helped out in the overall commercial products and the cloud services profits has grown to 14 percent year-over-year.
New Surface Products
On the other hand, the clue regarding the new Surface products in the subsequent several months isn’t a surprise. The Microsoft’s BUILD developer conference will start on May 7, 2018, and this event could serve as a release platform for new Surface gadgets. The Redmond-based tech company is slated to refresh its Surface Laptop, Surface Book, Surface Studio, and Surface Pro hardware. The company’s fans can also anticipate some sort of a Surface Phone or Surface Notepad.
Since Microsoft will be holding an event on May 7, 2018, and it has already confirmed that new Surface products are on its way, it appears that the alleged Surface Phone will make its first appearance too.
