After the earth-shattering success of Sacred Games (2018), a Netflix original based on renowned author Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel of the same name, a lot has changed in the Indian digital entertainment landscape. Before Sacred Games released and became an instant hit amongst audiences all over the world, the web was thought to be a medium that caters to actors who do not get enough opportunities in films or television, for that matter. However, the Netflix original shattered the wrong perception and how. The series had Bollywood heavyweights like Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte essaying important characters. After the humongous success of Sacred Games, many top Bollywood actors took the rapidly growing medium quite seriously and ended up signing one or more projects with various streaming media giants.

After binge-watching the first season of Sacred Games, fans are now waiting to feast their eyes on the second season of the series. As per reports, the team has already filmed the entire season two, but no official announcement regarding its premiere date is making fans a little restive. Earlier there were reports that Sacred Games 2 may start streaming in May. However, if latest reports are to be believed, fans will have to wait a little longer for the second season of Sacred Games as Netflix is planning to stream the new season in July.

If you follow the Indian account of Netflix on various social media networks, you would know it has been dropping a couple of hints for the past one month. However, there is no hint about the official premiere date of the series. Talking about what fans should expect from Sacred Games 2, it is going to be more gripping and intense. The second season will follow the story of Kanha Guru Ji (Pankaj Tripathi), the step father of Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The character was seen briefly in the first season.
