The Netflix series Sacred Games, which took the entire world by surprise upon its premiere last year, ended on a note which left the audience with a series of unanswered questions, ensuring that people wait for the second installment of the web-show with bated breath. And the same happened! Ever since the series concluded its first season last year, fans have been waiting for Sacred Games 2, the second installment, with loads of anticipation. Good news is that Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who play lead roles in the series, have just wrapped up the shoot and with this, the shooting for the entire series is completed. Now the series will go into post-production before its tentative premiere in May or July.

As we all know that ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap called the shots for the first season of Sacred Games along with his business partner and filmmaker friend Vikramaditya Motwane. The second season, however, is being co-directed by Kashyap and Masaan (2015) fame director Neeraj Ghaywan. Motwane still serves as showrunner of the series.

The first season, which received a stupendous response not only from Indian audiences but also the international audience, ended with Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) discovering the bunker that could be the key to saving the metropolitan city of Mumbai. In the Sacred Games 2, Sartaj has to race against time to save the city as he uncovers Gaitonde’s life. Besides Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, immensely talented Pankaj Tripathi, who was seen in a small role in the first season, will have a bigger part this time.

On the film front, Saif Ali Khan is presently shooting for Ajay Devgn’s ambitious period drama Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, on the other hand, is busy promoting his upcoming release Photograph, co-starring Sanya Malhotra.
