Natasha Rothwell Onboard For Patty Jenkins’ ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

Actress, the writer, and director, Natasha Rothwell, who is popular for her riveting performances in the HBO series Insecure and the 20th Century Fox offering Love, Simon, is gearing up to star in what could be described as her career’s biggest movie, Wonder Woman 1984. Yes, the talented actress has been roped in to play a pivotal supporting character in the big-ticket movie wherein she will be joining fellow franchise newcomers, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal.

For the uninitiated, Wonder Woman 1984 is a sequel to the Gal Gadot and Chris Pine starrer highly successful 2017 film Wonder Woman and the eighth installment in the DC Extended Universe. Gal Gadot and Chris Pine return to headline their original characters in the sequel as well. Coming to the storyline of the sequel, the makers are tight-lipped on the plot and not even a single piece of information has leaked except that, as reported in various media outlets, Wonder Woman 1984 is set in the 1980s and Diana Prince (Gadot) comes in conflict with a new mightier villain, Cheetah, which is being played by Wiig.

Talking about the release of Wonder Woman 1984, the movie is scheduled to make its entry into theatres on November 1, 2019. It will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in Real D 3D and IMAX 3D. The project began its principal shooting in June and is currently in production in the United States. Many visuals have trickled out ever since the movie went on floors and fans are quite excited to know what new they are going to see in the sequel.

Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, which hit the marquee on June 2, 2017, pulled in over $821.8M at the worldwide box-office and smashed records for a movie helmed by a female filmmaker. Its sequel is also expected to break many records upon its release at the box-office.
