Modified iPhone 7 And iPhone 8 Coming Next Month!
Just like any other year, people are looking forward to the upcoming tech devices from companies like Apple, Samsung, Google and many more.
But for this year, 2019, Apple, one of the well-known tech companies in the world, is surprising releasing a modified iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 next as soon as next month.
Why Is Apple Doing This?
According to Forbes, the information came from German site WinFuture. The Cupertino-based tech company is modifying iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 after the sales prohibition enforced by Qualcomm against certain iPhone models in Germany. The ban on sales concerns that iPhone X, iPhone 8 and the iPhone 7, as well as their respective Plus models.
The case was about a patent dispute between Apple and Qualcomm in Germany and is still ongoing.
The Modified iPhones
With the sales prohibition in Germany, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 will come with new model numbers and an Envelope Tracker chip installed.
For a black iPhone 7 Plus with 128 GB of memory, it is reportedly going to have the model number “MN482ZD / A”. Meanwhile, the space grey iPhone 8 with 64 GB of storage will feature the model number “MQ6K2ZD / A”.
Should Apple Add Some Other Upgrades As Well?
Forbes noted that this is an opportunity for Apple to make additional upgrades as well. One of the possible upgrades that the company could give to the modified iPhones is a larger battery.
But will Apple do that? Well, the report also noted that Apple included multiple upgrades in iOS 12.1.2 which was primarily released for similar legal reasons. Hopefully, the company does add in some.
