Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is arguably one of the most popular kart racing video games right now. It is not unreasonable to suggest that the game will be even bigger in the next year as two crossovers with other major brands have been set.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe cars for Hot Wheels

In a testament to the enduring popularity of the Super Mario brand, Mattel has signed an agreement with Nintendo to release a Hot Wheels car based on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Even more exciting is the fact that the launch lineup for Rocket League-based models will not only be limited to Mario, according to Engadget. It is set to include Bowser, Peach, and Luigi as well.

This is the first time that Mattel will be collaborating with Nintendo for Super Mario. The acclaimed toy maker has already announced that the toy cars will be released in June next year, costing $5 each. Each car may also be bought with accompanying playsets.

Crossover content with Legend of Zelda

The collaboration between Mattel and Nintendo comes a few days after the latter confirmed that it will issue crossover downloadable content with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This will come through an update, according to Variety.

The update will enable gamers to compete by using the Champion’s Tunic Link and Master Cycle Zero. Apart from that, Paraglider and Ancient Tires parts will also be available.

This is not the first time Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild crossed over with another gaming property. Last year, some elements of the game were made available for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

What are your thoughts on the crossover between Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? Are you getting the Hot Wheels cars based on Mario Kart? Let us know by posting an entry in the comments section.
