The tech giant Apple redesigned and updated the well-known MacBook Air on October 2018. The said garget celebrated its tenth birthday last year. The device became more thin and light than before. After all, the company made minor updates in 2017 and 2016. The processor was the same from the 2015 model. Many avid fans are waiting if the company will leave it untouched or neglect it again.

According to MacWorld, the MacBook Air 2019 will not be revealed before this coming October because it is very unusual for the company to do something like that within a year. If the company will discontinue the older version, the price of the £1,199 model will be reduced.

Then, the current MacBook Air in 2018 will cost less than $1,000 since it started at £1,199. The company has been criticized for continuing to sell the old version at such a high price and considering that the entry-level 13-inch model cost £849. The 11-inch model can be bought for the price of £749. The new model will unlikely have a price as low as that.

The well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was the first one to predict the update of the upcoming device and its reduced price. He said that if the company will introduce a new model at a lower price, the MacBook shipments will be pushed up by 10 to 15 percent in 2018. Then, Cross Research analyst Shannon Cross said that this update is necessary for the company to compete with other similar devices like Chromebooks, which had 60 percent shipping to education.

Speaking of design changes, the current 2018 model has a thinner profile, slimmer bezels, and new colors. A recent patent just surfaced online that the next model will have a chassis from a single piece of material. It can bend in the middle because of the flexible portion referred to as a living hinge.
