MacBook 2019: Latest Apple Patent Illustrates A MacBook With An Illuminated Body And More

2:28 PM

One of the highly anticipated Apple products expected to be released this year is the MacBook 2019 which is why it comes to no surprise that tech enthusiasts are always on the lookout for new leaks, rumors and official talks about it. This time around, the folks over at PatentlyApple spotted an Apple patent published by the European Patent Office which features a MacBook with a virtual trackpad and illuminable sidewall features.

The Apple Patent

As described by PatentlyApple, the MacBook featured on the patent features an illuminated body that defines a virtual or dynamic trackpad. In addition to that, it also features a translucent layer defining a keyboard region and a dynamic input region along an external surface. Furthermore, there’s a light control layer positioned below the translucent layer and within the dynamic input region which suggests that there may have a group of illuminable features.

Will We See Such Features On The MacBook 2019?

The concept design certainly looks awesome. However, considering the nature of patents, they usually don’t serve as a 100 percent guarantee that the concept design will be featured on a future product. Some of which would not even get to see the light of day.

Having said that, it’s best to keep expectations low. But hey, who knows, maybe the MacBook 2019 could have such features which would no doubt be quite a surprise.

When Is The MacBook 2019 Coming?

The last time Apple updated the MacBook was back in June 2017. For the 2019 model, there have been some expectations that Apple will update it last month at the 2019 Apple March event. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

This time around, reports are now pointing towards WWDC 2019 this June.

But will we see it there though? Sure, the 2017 MacBook was released in June 2017 so it makes sense to make such connection. However, if we look at 2018 WWDC, it was heavily focused on software and services. But there were also talks that the new Mac Pro will be presented at 2019 WWDC.

With that, perhaps the best thing that we can all do is to continue playing the waiting game and wait for more details to unfold.

What are your thoughts about the Apple patent? When do you think the MacBook 2019 will be released? Tell us in the comment section below.
