The Mac Pro 2019 is scheduled to be released to public this fall. Although it’s one of the long-awaited Apple products and it does feature powerful specs, there was one thing that killed most of its hype. That is, of course, the price which starts at $5,999 and this doesn’t even include a monitor.

Sure, many were expecting to be this powerful computer aimed for pro users so it was expected to be expensive, but it was just too expensive to even the pro users, especially if you consider that the entry-level of the previous Mac Pro was around $3,000.

With the price tag, this in return made many many tech enthusiasts wonder if the price tag is really worth it. This is where the Mac mini 2018 comes in.

Mac Mini 2018 vs Mac Pro 2019

Both the Mac mini and Mac Pro doesn’t include a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and trackpad. But with the premium price tag that the Mac Pro 2019 carries, some enthusiasts have argued that the Mac Mini 2018 is a better alternative instead. But then again, the Mac Pro was built for pro users.

The Mac mini 2018 starts at a much, much lower price tag, $799, and tops out at $1,099. The base model comes with an Intel Core i3-8100B quad-core (CPU), Intel UHD Graphics 630 (GPU), 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM 2666 MHz (RAM), and 128GB SSD storage.

We’ve only mentioned some of the specs and features of both devices. And as you can see, the Mac Pro 2019 is no doubt more powerful than the Mac mini 2018. But the Mac mini 2018, with its specs, features and price, it shows that it’s a much better alternative to the Mac Pro 2019 if you’re tight on the budget. Sure, it has limits, but with the extra cash that you would be saving, you could use it to buy components for upgrade or swap as needed at a much lower cost.
