Did Sony Just Make A Low Key PlayStation 5 Teaser?
It’s no secret that Sony and Microsoft are working on their next-generation consoles. Despite both companies being tight-lipped regarding their own respective next-gen console, that hasn’t stopped inside sources leaking juicy details about it and fans spotting for subtle hints.
This time around, it seems that Sony may have officially teased the PlayStation 5 (PS5) for the first time within a free holiday PS4 theme.
A Subtle Tease From Sony?
According to reports, a man from Georgia, USA named Mike Peterson (@bmikeyp) posted an interesting tweet on his Twitter account a few days ago. He wonders if Sony did a low key announcement or teaser for the PlayStation 5 within a free holiday PS4 theme that the Japanese company sent to some of its fans.

At the moment, the tweet made by Mike has 3,412 likes and 1,207 retweets. Some of the comments were about how to get this theme.
“How did you get this theme?” – Ginni Lou (@EXT0PD0LL)
“PlayStation emails out a holiday theme every year. You have to have the Communications turned on in your Account Settings. It’s the same way you get special themes and avatars for trophy progression. I can shoot you a full walk through in Settings if you want.” – Mike Peterson
“Can u give me a walkthrough in settings to get this theme?” – Jp Salazar (@JpSalazar20)
“Settings>Account Management>Account Information>Communication Preferences>✓ the boxes for special offers and promos.
I don’t know that you’ll get this year’s at this point, but it should open you up to future stuff like this, and special themes and avatars for trophy progress.” – Mike Peterson
When Is The PS5 Coming?
According to a recent report, a 2020 release seems to be the accepted date by most industry experts and analysts.
Last month, a Reddit user who goes by the name RuthenicCookie revealed that Sony will do a small reveal of the PS5 in mid-2019 and then a full reveal at PSX. As for its release date, it will be either in March or November of 2020.
