Lenovo Z5 Will Be The Highest Screen-To-Body Ratio Smartphone Ever Launched, VP Claims
Early this week, a report provided a tip that the Chinese-based tech company Lenovo might be working on their next upcoming flagship smartphone to be dubbed as the Lenovo Z5. The release date of the said phone will be this coming month, specifically on June 14.
The Lenovo Group Vice President Chang Cheng first teased on his Weibo account that the device will boast the highest screen-to-body ratio smartphone ever existed in the market. Then, he just confirmed now the name and design of the new phone.
In the new teaser, a screen-to-body ratio of more than 95 percent will likely happen. This is the largest screen space ever seen on a device since it will not feature top and bottom bezels. The sketch of the teaser indicates that the large display occupies most of the front panel. Then, the antenna bands are present on the left side presumably suggesting a metallic chassis. A USB-C port might be offered on the bottom bezel.
According to GizmoChina, Cheng also mentioned the four technological breakthroughs and 18 patented technologies with this next-generation flagship. If this is so, some of the advanced features will be the flip-up selfie camera, under-display fingerprint scanner, and in-screen earpiece. However, these features have no official confirmation.
Since VP Cheng has confirmed already, the company seems to have no plans to resell their ZUK-branded smartphones. The ZUK lineup was not very successful in its own home market in China. This made the company come up and debut last month the cheap budget-friendly smartphones like the 5.72-inch Lenovo K5 and the 5.7-inch K5 Lite as well as the mid-range phone Lenovo S5.
Once the Lenovo Z5 will arrive, the comprehensive screen-enabled smartphones from the tech giant Xiaomi such as Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Mix 2S will be challenged. So, what do you think of the latest teaser about the Lenovo Z5? Share your thoughts with us by writing in the comment section below.
