Lenovo Confirms NVIDIA Favored GeForce GTX Series 11 Instead Series 20; GPU Cards Release Specified
A Lenovo representative revealed that NVIDIA already chose the GeForce GTX 11 Series over the GeForce 20 Series. Aside from that, the GPUs release dates seem to be revealed as well.
According to Wccftech, these latest pieces of information about the next-generation GeForce GPUs came from a Lenovo representative at the E3 2018 booth. The rep has an interview with TechTuber BrainBean, who asked him about the new Legion desktop PCs. While he was talking about graphics side upgrades that are expected for the Legion PCs, the Lenovo rep responded that users can anticipate an NVIDIA GeForce 11 series, up until a GeForce GTX 1180.
Additionally, the also affirmed that the Legion desktop PC graphics upgrade would arrive at around fall 2018 for the one with GTX 1060. With that being said, it is safe to expect that the GeForce GTX 1180 and GeForce GTX 1170 will make its first appearance earlier than summer 2018 which predisposes with the gossips.
It is also worth pointing out that this news also aligns with when NVIDIA fans would see major OEM traction for the next-gen NVIDIA GeForce GPUs. This is in-line with what Gigabyte had previously divulged that the company will upgrade its AORUS note-book lineup during the end of this year.
Furthermore, there are also details starting to surface regarding the next-gen NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards as a new PCB archetype was just exposed a few days ago. It features a Micron’s high-performance GDDR6 memory and a hefty power management system which is essential for internal testing for the unreleased graphics boards and graphics cards.
With Micron already started the GDDR6 mass production and more clues of NVIDIA’s next-generation graphics card surfacing everywhere. With this, it is safe to assume that NVIDIA will have an event in the next few months announcing its next-gen GeForce GPUs.
