Latest Patent Revealing AirPower With Advanced Security Features Spotted
The Cupertino tech giant Apple seems to have something innovative for its consumers to compete against Chinese manufacturers. The company continues to mention its unreleased wireless charging mat AirPower.
According to Gizmochina, the company has applied for a new patent at the United States Patent & Trademark Office. In the recent patent, the wireless charging pad is packed with various new advancements. It can charge multiple devices at the same time such as your iPhone, iPad, and iWatch simultaneously.
At the same time, the AirPower allows these charged devices to communicate with each other in more than just one way as long as in its proximity range. The enhanced security features exhibit the charging status of multiple Apple devices. The charging mat provides unique IDs of the devices to keep track of the battery level.
The charging status can be seen at a glance on the largest display devices connected to the charging mat. The iPhone will prompt a message warning if the battery charge is enough to last throughout the day. You can even see your usual charging habits, appointments, and meetings in your calendar. There will also be memory storage but it is not yet clear how to use it.
As of now, the charging mat will be unveiled early next year. The popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made a research note late October and indicated that the AirPods and AirPower may launch in late fourth quarter of this year or early first quarter of next year. If true, then the charging mat could be released within the next few months.
The speculated causes of the delay are believed to be its advanced features and its complexity as a charging mat. Another possible reason would be its optional wireless charging case for AirPods 2 that is already listed as currently unavailable on the company’s website.
