Justin Bieber, one of the most popular pop singers in the world, keeps hitting headlines every now and then. But this time around, he has caught everybody’s attention for all the wrong reasons. The singer-songwriter, who has taken a sabbatical from music to focus on his health and marriage, has invited the wrath of several social media users. So what has led people on social media to criticize Bieber? Actually, the singer shared fake pregnancy posts on April Fools’ Day to pull a prank on his fans, but his actions did not go too well with many and people criticized the singer for his insensitive act.

On 1st April, the singer shared a photo of ultrasound without a caption. Fans thought that he was expecting his first child with wife Hailey Baldwin. As if sharing the fake ultrasound images was not enough, Bieber took the joke a step further by sharing a series of photos featuring Baldwin with medical professionals touching her belly. “If you thought it was April fools,” the singer captioned the post.

Congratulatory messages started pouring in from all over the world as soon as the singer shared the photos on Instagram. While a section of fans always had this at the back of their mind that it might be a Fools’ Day frank, some really believed that Hailey Baldwin is in a family way. However, Bieber did not take much time in bursting the bubble and clarified the pregnancy post with a doctored ultrasound photo that included a puppy and captioning it, “Wait for OMG, is that an APRIL FOOLS!”

While some users did enjoy Bieber’s prank, the majority of them did not like what the singer did and slammed him heavily for faking pregnancy on social media. Later the singer apologized for his April Fools’ Day pregnancy prank. In a long post, he wrote, “There’s always gonna be people offended, there’re also people who don’t take jokes very well, I am a prankster and it was APRIL FOOLS. I didn’t at all mean to be insensitive to people who can’t have children. A lot of people I know, their first go to prank on April fools is telling their parents they are pregnant to get a big reaction.”
