Jon Hamm Can Play Batman, But Only On This Condition
Popular actor Jon Hamm, who is remembered for playing advertising executive Don Draper on the hit television series Mad Men (2007–2015), has shown interest in taking on Batman role. But the talented actor has one condition; the script needs to be really good for him to come onboard.
In his recent interview for his series In Depth, the actor revealed that he has always been a comic book fan. He also admitted having given a thought to playing Batman. However, if the makers want to rope in him to play the popular character, they need to come up with a strong script. “It depends on the script, what the story is,” the actor said, adding, “I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I’ve read comic books since I was 9 or younger. And I’m pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they’re done well.”
Jon Hamm went on to add that though he is yet to have any official conversation with the makers about perhaps playing Batman, he thinks he fits the bill. “I’d probably fit the suit. I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love. But, I am sure there’s an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?”
Fans have always believed that Hamm would make a great Batman if he ever agrees to do the part. The actor said that he knows all about such rumors. “I have had rumors about that since probably season one of Mad Men,” he said. “I have never had a conversation with anybody about it, literally. And I’ve sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the internet.”
