Is There Still Hope For AirPods 2, AirPower, and Apple Streaming Services? Let’s Find Out
The tech giant Apple seems to be working on the launch of the second-generation AirPods. These earphones are expected to be called AirPods 2 once released on June 2019. Some speculated that this will most likely be during their Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2019 event.
According to TechRadar, the company just had its first earnings call for this year. The company mentioned their damage control about the $9 billion shortfalls in revenue that happened in the last quarter of 2018. Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook just spoke the impressive numbers in opposition to the 15% drop in iPhone sales with higher revenues in all other Apple products.
The company didn’t address the FaceTime bug issue during the earnings call. For reference, this feature easily allows anyone to eavesdrop on whoever they called and peek at them through their front-facing camera. The company might have been aware of this issue a week ago. This is because the company temporarily shuttered Group FaceTime entirely. A proper fix is promised to come later this week.
The company also didn’t say anything about the AirPods 2 wireless headphones, AirPower wireless charging mats, or the Apple streaming service. The second-generation AirPods are expected to come with some sort of biometric monitoring capability. This technology is in line with the company’s plan to expand into medical monitoring.
Regarding the AirPower wireless charging mats, this concept was introduced when the current iPhone X was released. Earlier this month, a tip from unnamed sources working in the company’s supply chain indicated that the charging mats have entered mass production.
Cook chose not to get into specifics about the Apple streaming service. However, he promised to share more information on it later on. He also mentioned that the company is considering adjusting the iPhones’ prices in other markets like Turkey.
