iPhone SE 2 is The Coolest 2018 Device With All-Screen Front? Latest Leak and Specs Detailed
It has been a couple of weeks since many rumors and leaks about the iPhone SE 2 got surfaced online from several sources. Three new iPhones, which are two with OLED screens and one with an LCD display, are already expected to unveil this coming September.
Many are thinking the latter device from tech giant Apple will be a phone inspired by the original iPhone SE with notch and Face ID. Some are even dubbing it as iPhone X SE, iPhone Mini 2018, and iPhone SE2–neither of these is confirmed names.
In the most recent leak, Chinese smartphone case maker Olixar posted an alleged render of the device alongside the online accessories store Mobile Fun. They are known to be accurate in the past in leaking designs of other popular phones before they are actually introduced in the market.
According to Pocket-lint, the computer-generated images showed the device will have an all-screen front. It seems that it will also come with a metal build and the same size chassis as the current iPhone SE but in a 5-inch panel display. A single lens camera is visible on the rear and a possible iPhone SE branding at the bottom. Then, the device will be joining the 5.8-inch iPhone X2 and presumably 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus.
The phone will also carry a glass back, probably for the support of wireless charging technology, and a notch at the top of its screen, wherein the rumored Face ID sensors will be placed. However, no Touch ID home button is seen. The notched, edge-to-edge display is similar to the current, expensive iPhone X but only an LCD screen, not OLED.
The well-known phone leaker Evan Blass and a Japanese blog site Macotakara seemed to be supporting this recent leak and match up with the Olixar images. The latest tweet from Blass indicated that the upcoming device will be named as the “iPhone SE (2018).” Meanwhile, the site from reliable sources attending the Japan IT Week Spring 2018 Mobile Expo suggested that all prototypes have a notch but no Touch ID.
