iPhone SE 2 Exclusive Sketch Reveals Bezel Free And Notched Display; Leaked iPhone SE 2 Video Might Be Real
On Thursday, a highly doubtful video of iPhone SE 2 has been surfaced from China. The video allegedly showed Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 2 for the first time ever. As the video came out a number of media houses labeled the video ‘likely fake.’ However, news publication BGR has received iPhone SE 2 sketches by a trusted source about a week ago that pictures same design what we have seen in the video.
The handset pictured in the video boasts a device similar to iPhone X, but it appears to be smaller. In place of the rounded stainless steel the alleged iPhone SE 2 wraps around the border of the iPhone X, this phone has flattened aluminum just like the current iPhone SE. On the front side, there is an “all-screen” design with a notch that is again similar to the iPhone X. The device in the video boasts a vertically placed dual-lens camera. As we can see in the video, the phone appears to be running iOS.
Let’s take a quick look at the alleged iPhone SE 2 video:
Reports claim that it is highly unlikely for Apple to bring one of its greatest smartphones’ features to a middle tier smartphone i.e. iPhone SE 2. Unless it wants to completely cannibalize the previous iPhones 7, 7 Plus, 8 and 8 Plus. However, the latest sketches for the alleged iPhone SE 2’s suggests that the iPhone SE 2 video leak might be real. If you look closely at this device spotted in the sketch below then you will spot a notch that is similar to what we just saw in the leaked video. Since the sketches are coming from BGR and not from any Chinese sources there is a reason to believe that this might be true to some extent.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously reported that Apple plans to unveil three new iPhone models in September 2018. One will supposedly be an iPhone X successor with a 5.8-inch OLED display, another one might be a larger Plus model with a 6.5-inch OLED display, and the third iPhone will be a lower-cost variant with a 6.2-inch LCD screen.
The third iPhone was rumored to feature a design that was far more similar to the iPhone X than the phone pictured in the leaked video and in the BGR’s exclusive sketches. However, it’s likely that Apple could tie in some of the iPhone SE’s design identity to link the new lower-cost model to Apple’s other low-cost phone. It would be strange to mix two designs like that, but Apple has made plenty of unusual decisions over the past years. The other problem with the currently leaked sketches is that it hints this phone is the same overall size as the present iPhone SE. At that size, the handset will not sport a display that measures 6.2 inches diagonally.
Right now, it is advised to take all these leaks with a pinch of salt. Even if Apple does debut a bezel-free display on the iPhone SE 2, the tech giant will not provide the smartphone’s notch with Facial Recognition. At moment, we can hope for is future corroboration or correction. Please let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned for the future updates.
