iPhone 9: Everything We Must Know About Apple’s Affordable iPhone
The iPhone 9 from the tech giant Apple is still in works and is expected to be priced at the opposite end of the spectrum. Here are the latest speculations and leaks about this upcoming device.
According to 9to5Mac, the size of this device will be in the middle of the entire 2018 iPhone lineup. It will have 6.1-inch LCD display, making it above the 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X and below the 6.4-inch OLED iPhone X Plus. The resolution is predicted to be between 320 and 330 pixels per inch, which is lower than the 401 from the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus. The A12 processor will power it with the last-gen A11 Bionic chipset to save costs.
The dimensions of the iPhone 9 will be 150.91 mm by 75.72 mm by 8.47 mm thick. These indicate that it will be slightly thicker than the current iPhone X but smaller than the X Plus. The bezels will also be slightly larger than the other iPhone models. However, the glass back will be the same as other models. The wireless charging support is still unclear, as of now, but will surely come with an aluminum frame.
In the photography department, the single 12-megapixel camera will be present and is similar to the current iPhone 8. The optical image stabilization will be added for photos and videos. The expected cost will be between $600 and $700. Others speculated as cheap as $550. The release date will be in September together with the two new OLED models. The mass production is rumored to be more difficult compared to those of the iPhones X and X Plus as the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims.
Meanwhile, after all the leaks and speculations, the iPhone X Plus is already set to unveil later this year. To compare and guide us which device to purchase next here is a leaked video of the alleged dummy units of both devices.
