iPad Pro 3 Release Update: Apple to Launch 11-inch iPad Pro at WWDC 2018, Report Claims
Apple is said to be working on an 11-inch iPad Pro, as per the Taiwanese report that also declines the rumor about iPhone SE 2 release in the first half of the year. The latest report claims that Apple is working on a new iPad Pro 3 that will be released at WWDC 2018.
According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, a new iPad Pro with a display measuring around 11-inches in size might get unveiled at this year’s World Wide Developers Conference 2018, which will be taking place on June 4th. We have already heard lots of rumors hinting the launch of a new iPad Pro in 10.5-inch form later this year. With that being said, it is entirely possible that Apple might increase the size of the display to the somewhere around 11-inches that report claims, all without increasing the overall size of the iPad Pro 3.
However, considering the fact that Apple previously launched new iPads in June, it would make sense that the company will unveil the iPad Pro 3 in June this year. The DigiTimes report has suggested that we can expect an updated 9.7-inch iPad in the second quarter of this year, and a brand new iPad Pro in the second half of the year.
The Taiwanese news portal also hinted that this timeframe is accurately similar to what Rosenblatt Securities analyst Jun Zhang claimed in the recent note. His recent note reads that “mass production of the iPad Pro 3 will begin soon and it will probably to go on sale toward the end of June.” However, he has predicted 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch versions for iPad Pro 2018, with no mention of an 11-inch iPad Pro 3.
The upcoming iPad Pro 3 is expected to sport an eight-core A11X processor and Apple’s Face ID facial recognition feature. Various sources have also reported that Apple is planning on slimming down the bezels on iPad Pro 3; however, it seems unlikely that the tablet will get an all-display design. The Rosenblatt’s note also claims that the refreshed iPad Pro will not have a Home button.
Additionally, the report also claims that Apple will not unveil rumored iPhone SE 2 in the first half of this year. Not only iPhone SE2, report citing an unnamed source, claims that Apple has no new iPhones planned for the first half of 2018.
