iPad Pro 3 or iPad Pro 2018 Will Have Face ID Support, TrueDepth Camera, and Animoji
Over the last few months, the rumor about a new series of iPad Pro with TrueDepth camera and Face ID biometric authentication system has emerged. The tech giant Apple is getting ready to introduce these features for the September event.
The well-known developer Steven Troughton-Smith just posted a tweet with an attached picture that the company is already close to incorporate the Face ID technology to the upcoming iPad Pro 3. He discovered a new avatar generation feature AvatarKit within the latest iOS 12 beta code.
In the screenshot, the post showed the main interface for producing Animoji on the larger iPad-size screen. The facial tracking is not yet performed on it. However, this software framework is ready and can be implemented for an iPad. It relies on the company’s Animoji feature.

The TrueDepth Camera was originally introduced on the current iPhone X with the sensor array. This feature is needed to use the software AvatarKit. This detail confirms that the same hardware from the iPhone X will be adapted to the next iPad Pro 2018.
In terms of specification, the iPad Pro 3 is rumored to have thinner edges to remove the physical button. The company’s A12X SoC processor will possibly be used instead of the expected A11X. The custom graphics processing unit will also be present that the company engineered. An octa-core CPU will also boost the upcoming tablet.
The iPhone X-style gestures will also be in the iOS 12 beta. You can lock the screen if you swipe up from the gesture bar and swipe up again to reach the home screen. The tablet will sport a larger 11-inch display with the same dimensions as the previous lineup since it will come with slimmer edges.
The rumored release date for this tablet will be in September. This is more than 12 months after the last iPad Pro got unveiled. The popular analyst of TF International Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo speculated that the third quarter of this year is going to be the exact date.
