Apple October Event 2018: iPad Pro 3, MacBook Air 2018, Mac Mini, and AirPods 2
After the Apple’s highly anticipated September event, tech enthusiasts are now looking forward to the company’s next 2018 event will happen. Apparently, reports suggest that it will be this month. If so, when exactly? Also, what are the devices expected to be presented?
The October Event
First, we’re going to look at Apple’s track record over the years.
October 23, 2012
- iPad Mini
- 4th gen iPad
- MacBook Pro
October 22, 2013
- iPad Air
- 2nd gen iPad Mini
- MacBook Pro
October 16, 2014
- iPad Air 2
- iPad Mini 3
October 27, 2016
- MacBook Pro
As you can see, the Cupertino-based tech company hosted three events in a row and then skipped 2015 and 2017. Assuming that there will be an event this year, it will likely be held in the 3rd or 4th week of the month.
What Products Could Be Launched?
For this year alone, there have been numerous reports on what Apple devices will be launched this year. Among those devices are the iPad Pro 3, MacBook Air 2018 and Mac Mini Pro.
iPad Pro 3
Just like its predecessors, the iPad Pro 3 is reported to come in two screen sizes: 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch/11-inch. Both variants will feature Face ID, 4K display, USB-C port, all-screen design with no notch, and will be packed with an A12X Bionic processor. There was also a rumor that it won’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.
MacBook Air 2018
The MacBook Air 2018 is reportedly going to come with Amber Lake chips, Touch ID, Retina display, and USB-C. In addition to this, a low-cost 13-inch model and an ultrathin MacBook model are also said to come.
Mac Mini Pro 2018
According to reports, the Mac Mini Pro 2018 will feature an improved processor (presumably Intel’s 8th gen U-Series Intel Core CPU) and more plentiful storage options. Aside from this, it has also been rumored that the 2018 Mac Mini will be larger in terms of design.
What About The AirPods 2?
Although reports have claimed that the AirPods 2 will be released in early 2019 (presumably in March), there have also been reports claiming that the said earpiece could be unveiled this year. As for whether that rumor is true, it’s hard to say.
But perhaps Apple could mention/feature the AirPods 2 for this October event just like what happened at the recent September event. As you may already know, although the company didn’t mention the said earpiece, it was featured on the event’s opening film where a woman demonstrated the “Hey Siri” feature.
