iPad Pro 3 Coming This October With New Screen Size, 4K Display, A12X Bionic Chip, And More
One of the highly anticipated tablets this year is the iPad Pro 3 (aka iPad Pro 2018). Although the initial expectation that will be released in June has already passed, tech enthusiasts are still hoping that it will be launched in the second half of this year.
So, when exactly is it exactly coming? What are its rumored specs and features?
The Release Date
As already mentioned, the iPad Pro 3 was initially expected to be released in June. This is because the 2017 version was announced and released in June. However, as you may already know, the 2018 WWDC was heavily focused on software.
After that, reports then started to speculate that it would be released in September alongside the 2018 iPhones. But then again, there was still no sign of the much-awaited tablet.
This time, reports are now pointing towards an October launch date. If this proves to be true, fans will definitely be delighted.
Over the past few months, we’ve heard a number of rumors, leaks, and speculations about the specs and features of the iPad Pro 3. The said tablet will feature:
For its screen design, although the 2017 models featured a 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch, this year’s models are said to come with a new 11-inch size and a redesigned 12.9-inch size display. Both will come with Face ID and an all-screen design with no notch.
Last week, based on the recent findings in the iOS 12.1 Beta, tech enthusiasts discovered an interesting clue regarding its screen resolutions. On the “external displays” menu option, the upcoming iPad Pro 3 could feature of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels or 4K. The other options are:
- 640 x 480
- 720 x 480
- 1024 x 768
- 1280 x 720 (720p)
- 1920 x 1080 (1080p)
Another leak last month was regarding its chip. According to a leakster, who goes by the name “Longhorn”, the upcoming tablets will be packed with a processor carrying the internal name T8027 which is the A12X Bionic processor.
According to a report, the upcoming tablets could change the Smart Connector and possibly replace the Lightning port with a USB-C port. There was also a rumor that it will be ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack. Furthermore, another rumor that’s been floating for months is that it won’t feature Touch ID.
